Position Summary

SUMMARY:

We currently have an opening for a Commercial Lender to join our team in our Hartford, WI location, but be Hybrid/Remote.

As a Commercial Banker, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial loans with a primary focus on C&I lending and a secondary focus on CRE lending. You will leverage your strong background in these areas to attract and retain customers, ensuring their financial needs are met with tailored solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and maintain an active calling program on prospective and new customers with a focus on small and middle market opportunities to ensure growth in loan portfolios.

2. Serve as a trusted advisor through consultive selling, helping clients recognize business opportunities and mitigate risks.

3. Receive and screen loan applications.

4. Participate in the management of loan portfolios.

5. Direct and participate in the closing of approved commercial loan agreements.

6. Meet with and interview existing and new loan customers for Large and Small Business credit, gathering personal and business financial information utilizing the appropriate loan application.

7. Perform an underwriting analysis of each application for credit worthiness, ability to repay the loan, applicant(s) character, and adequacy of collateral securing said loan, and ensure loan documentation and procedures meet the bank’s loan policy and procedures requirements.

8. Ensure loan applications are accepted and underwritten within bank loan policy and regulatory requirements

9. Work with the Loan Processing department and the Credit Analyst/Loan Review Officer to efficiently underwrite, document, approve, and close loans as quickly as possible

10. Manage loan closing procedures to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate while meeting bank loan policies and guidelines as well as those of both external bank regulators and internal loan audit/review requirements.

11. Monitor and review assigned commercial loan portfolio on a regular basis.

12. Identify and manage call referrals/joint calls with other bankers for other bank-related services for cross selling opportunities.

13. Participate in community events and activities to support Forte Bank’s community presence and network with other community leaders.

Reports to Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer. incumbent as well

Education & Experience

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· 5-8+ Years of Commercial Lending experience; experience with C&I Lending is ideal

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business or commensurate practical experience

· Proven track record of successfully bringing in new customers and growing loan portfolios through consultive selling and problem solving.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong knowledge of credit analysis, risk assessment, and loan structuring.
